Court is now in session: The might of the Law

Introduction

The purpose of a career in law is to become a lawyer, a person who works in the legal field and assists clients on legal proceedings and legal issues. This field focuses on the aspects of the legal field, which includes a lot of aspects, such as disputes, trials, legal suits, laws themselves, etc. Lawyers contribute to the legal system, and assist in the realization of due process. More information about the career will be covered in this essay.

What is it?

Those who take the field of law become lawyers, that is to say, a person who works with clients to solve legal issues, which can range from a simple legal dispute to even an indictment of a crime. These lawyers who attend in court proceedings are specifically known as attorneys in some places. Most of the work of a lawyer is paperwork and talking with people, requiring both communication and responsibility.

A lawyer must be a disciplined, responsible, and orderly person. They must also have a multitude of skills and abilities, such as problem-solving and responsibility, and they must dominate and adhere to judicial and administrative processes and norms.

Fields of Specialization

Several examples of specialization in the field of Law include criminal law, labor law, civil law, corporate law, constitutional law, electoral law, financial law, among many others. These specializations allow aspiring lawyers to provide a better service to their clients thanks to the greater experience in their specific field, and allow greater prestige for those who choose to take them.

Relevance

The field of law is extremely important to society as a whole, allowing civil, legal, criminal, economic, social, and political issues (to name a scarce few) to be solved fairly and impartially. Thanks to due process and the legal system, individuals have the opportunity to present a fair case. Without laws setting the boundaries for acceptable conduct and fair treatment, society would not be able to exist.

Job Prospects

When working as a lawyer, people have several job prospects for them, being able to work in law firms, consultancies, as teachers in educational institutions, public administration, private companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and as researchers. They can also work as solo practitioners with their own law firm for themselves.

Conclusion

To finish up this essay, I myself gained an interest in this field because I have always been invested in two aspects that are very relevant in Law: history and society. These two topics fascinate me because I like reading narratives, and in a way real life history is a narrative, with society being additional ‘worldbuilding’ for the narrative.

Additionally, there is a lot to learn in this field, as every country has its own laws, legislations, and legal systems to learn. In fact, it is possible to practice law in other countries, but you need to study that country’s legal system.

Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of corruption and violence in Mexico, so studying Law here can potentially end in disaster. Additionally, as there are so many laws and concepts to learn, I have read that studying Law can get a bit tiring at times, but it’s nothing that can take down someone who is passionate about this field.
