Experiences through the Biology 3rd Partial - Jesus Castañeda Cabrera
Biology II
The Topics we saw:
Throughout the partial, we saw mostly Mendel's Law which covers the topic of mutation. At first, I thought it was a cool topic but then the teacher introduced us to Gene mutations which I liked a lot because you can identify by yourself what happened there. The activities on this topic entertained me a lot and I wish we got more time to see a bit further on the topic. The other topic we were about to see was evolution which a lot of my classmates wanted to see but unfortunately to the lack of time, we didn't get to see it.
The Trip to the Laboratory:
Almost forgot to mention but throughout the partial, we went to the Laboratory in which we did an activity that consisted of opening the stem of some flowers so we could see it in a microscope. This activity was amazing by the fact some of us learned something new. The thing I really liked about this activity was definitely watching a lot of things in the microscope once we put the samples. Although we once went to the lab last semester it was definitely fun, entertaining, and chill. I would really like to go next semester to see something different. Forgot to mention but the teacher gave us the instructions really clearly and got to do the activity by ourselves knowing every process.
The Rally:
Then for the rally we had a week ago, it was decent not going to lie it was definitely dry compared to last semester but in the end, we did have fun which is all that matters. For me I really liked the game of the sand sacks and grab the rope although they weren't any related to this subject it was really fun. I was shocked by the small amount of activities they gave us, most of them being physical rather than science-based activities. Another thing to mention is that the rally itself was mandatory this year rather than the last one which was optional and more casual well for this year a lot of teams were cheating without the teachers knowing so most of us really made us uncomfortable.
